Brass instrument repair involves fixing issues like leaks, dents, valve malfunctions, or cracked tubing. Cleaning, replace damaged parts, and ensure the instrument plays optimally. Routine maintenance, like oiling valves and cleaning the inner tubing, is also part of regular care.
A brass instrument overhaul is a more extensive procedure. It involves completely disassembling the instrument, cleaning all parts, repairing or replacing any worn components (such as valves, slides, or tuning pipes), and reassembling it to like-new condition. Overhauls often include buffing the exterior, polishing the metal, and ensuring that the instrument’s intonation and playability are restored to peak performance.
